Powered mobility, rethought.

A wheelchair
you'd be
proud to own.

Intelligent, beautifully designed electric chairs for people who know what's missing from every other option on the market.

300+ km range
4.2s fold time
25 kg total weight

Three steps to your build.

01

Pick your frame

Choose the range tier and frame style that fit your day. Standard, Extended, and Max ranges update both your mileage and your chair weight in real time.

02

Choose your drive

Pick the wheels and controller setup that match where you’ll ride — city sidewalks, mixed terrain, or longer commutes. Watch the price lock in with every selection.

03

Finish your fit

Layer on the accessories that make it yours: fold-down arm rests, under-seat storage, and the Smart Pack for over-the-air updates and remote diagnostics.

From configure to over-the-air — the chair keeps getting better.

We hand-build and ship

Engineered and assembled in the US. Built to your configuration, inspected by hand, on your door in 8–12 weeks.

04

It gets smarter over time

The chair disappears into the experience. Over-the-air updates unlock new drive modes, smarter battery management, and refinements that arrive while you sleep.

"I took the Max range tier on a three-week road trip down the coast. I never worried about finding a charge — the chair just kept going."

"It folds into the back of my hatchback in under a minute. The matte frame finish still looks new after a year of daily train-and-bus rides."

"The terrain wheels have taken me through gravel trails, wet grass, and beach boardwalks without a single slip. It feels indestructible."

Smart

Motion OS that learns your routes. Adapts to terrain. Improves over time with over-the-air updates.

Modern

Consumer tech aesthetics. Not a beige box from a medical catalog. Designed to be seen.

Built for Real Life

Folds in 4 seconds. Goes in any car trunk. Charges in 3 hours. Designed for how you actually live.

The Problem

Wheelchairs look like what they are: medical devices designed by medical companies.

For 40 million Americans who need a wheelchair, the options look the same: grey frames, beige plastic, chunky joysticks. They function. They don't inspire. They don't feel like you.

That's a design failure. We've decided to fix it.

VoltMotion starts from a different premise: the person comes first. The device is an extension of who you are — your style, your pace, your independence. We design for that.

Premium Frame

Carbon fiber and aircraft-grade aluminum construction. Weighs less, lasts longer, looks nothing like what you'd expect from a medical supplier.

Smart Connectivity

App-connected. Customize drive profiles, track battery health, monitor usage patterns. Your chair gets smarter the more you use it.

4-Second Fold

From seated to stowed in under 5 seconds. Folds flat for car trunks, airplane overheads, and everyday life. No tools, no struggle.

300km Range

Dual lithium-ion pack with regenerative braking. Real-world range, real-world testing. Go further on a single charge than any chair in its class.

Gyro Balance System

Active tilt correction on uneven terrain. Curb cuts, gravel, ramps — handled automatically. You drive, the chair adapts.

Custom Drive Profiles

Set speed limits, sensitivity, and steering feel for different environments — home, work, outdoors. Switch between profiles from your phone.

"Finally, a chair that doesn't look like it belongs in a hospital. It's the first time I've actually been excited to show someone my wheelchair."

— Early Access Customer, Portland

"The configurator was intuitive. The chair arrived exactly as I built it. 300km range is real — I've pushed it past the official spec."

— Early Access Customer, Austin

"I'm an architect. I notice design. VoltMotion is the first wheelchair that I would call beautiful. My wife has already started sketching finishes."

— Early Access Customer, Seattle

Straight answers before you build.

Why does VoltMotion cost $3,299?
Aluminum frame, dual lithium battery pack, brushless hub motors, app-connected controller. You're paying for the BOM and the assembly — not the DME billing markup that funds 50 years of hospital procurement committees. Build your exact spec in the configurator; the price moves with what you actually add.
Does insurance cover this?
No. VoltMotion is sold direct, out of pocket. Most private insurance and Medicare categorize power chairs as DME (durable medical equipment) and reimburse only specific clinical models — we don't fit that mold. Financing is on the roadmap.
Why go electric instead of a manual chair?
Distance, fatigue, and autonomy. A manual chair takes real shoulder effort over a day; an electric one doesn't. The "manual is healthier" framing assumes the user has the upper-body reserve to push a chair through a full day of errands, work, and travel — many don't, and that's not a failure of any kind. Electric is a tool that keeps the day open.
What's covered under warranty and how does service work?
Frame, motors, and controller: 3 years from delivery. Battery pack: 2 years. Wear items (tires, joystick grip, armrest pads) aren't covered — those are replaceable parts. Service runs through remote diagnostics from the Smart Pack Pro — your chair reports motor temps, battery health, and fault codes over the air, so most issues get diagnosed before a truck rolls. There is no dealer network. If we can't fix it remotely, we ship you the part and walk you through the swap, or pick the chair up.
When does it ship and what does it cost?
Free shipping in the US. Production runs are scheduled in batches; current orders ship 8–12 weeks after the configurator reservation. International shipping opens after the first production run — if you're outside the US, put your configuration through the configurator now to reserve a build slot, and we'll reach out when international shipping is live.
Can I try it and send it back?
30 days from delivery. If the chair doesn't fit your life, ship it back in the original packaging and we refund the purchase price. One qualifier: every chair is built to the configuration on file, so returns include a $200 restocking fee to cover the disassembly, inspection, and re-listing of your specific build. Accessories (armrests, storage, Smart Pack) returned uninstalled are fully refundable.
